ZED Champions: Your First 48 Hours

The airdrop’s done, and your horses are in the game. Here’s what to expect as you get started.

If you received or bought a Breeding Horse(s), it will be eligible to breed your next champion once the Stud Marketplace opens, 36 hours after launch. Hot tip: read up on Auctions in the gameplay guide.

If you received a Racing Horse(s), it’s already queued in the Racing Pool and will race within the first 12 hours. All 4,320 Racing Horses have been scheduled to run. Yours might not appear in the very first batch, but you can check your dashboard to find out when it will hit the track.

Every Racing Horse enters ZED Champions with 1,000 matchmaking points. These points decide where your horse races and what prize pools it competes for. As your points climb, you’ll face tougher competition and an opportunity to earn bigger rewards.

Each Racing Horse has an Internal $ZED Balance, set at 50% of its breeding price. In every race, up to 10% of that balance is automatically staked. Win races to grow it, lose, and it shrinks. Keeping your Internal $ZED Balance healthy is key to staying active in the Racing Pool.

The Marketplace is already open. You can buy and sell Racing Horses immediately, whether you’re looking to build your stable or adjust your lineup. Activity will pick up quickly, especially ahead of auctions, so it’s worth checking early.

Breeding happens in the Stud Marketplace, where retired horses are paired to create new foals. You can bid in live auctions to secure a great pairing and grow your stable.

All foals are born race ready. It’s a one-in, one-out system that keeps the competition sharp, the 4320 racehorses fresh, and the breeding pool always changing.

reZED will be distributed just before the first auctions begin. You’ll use reZED to bid on studs and augments (coming soon). If you’re holding reZED, keep an eye on the auction windows, it’s one of the best ways to level up your stable.

You’ll also be able to Reforge horses. Reforging permanently archives a breeding horse, and gives you a Reforge Token. These tokens can be used to add extra breeding slots to a horse you want to build around.
